Solution 26653: Sending, Receiving (Collecting) and Deleting TI-Nspire™ Documents Using the TI-Nspire CX Premium Software or TI-Nspire Navigator™ System.
How can I send, receive (collect) and delete documents to my TI-Nspire family handheld units using the TI-Nspire CX Premium Software or TI-Nspire Navigator™ System?
To send, receive (collect) and delete documents from the TI-Nspire family handhelds using the TI-Nspire Navigator system, follow the steps below:
Please Note: For the below steps to work the TI-Nspire CX Premium Software must have TI-Nspire CX Navigator functionality enabled and must be used in conjunction with TI-Nspire Navigator system hardware. If this functionality is not enabled please follow the steps in KB#39338.
To send documents using the TI-Nspire Navigator system:
• Open the Document you wish to send, if it is not already open.
• Click [Begin Class], if you have not already, to start a class session.
• Click on the [Send to class...] button, [File] then [Send to Class] or the shortcut [Ctrl]+[Shift]+[S].
• A dialog box will be displayed giving options to send to "Class" or "Individual Students". A different "Folder" may also be selected, by default the class folder is selected. "Logged in only" if selected will only send the document to students currently logged in.
• Click the [Finish] button after the selections are made to send the file to the class.
To send documents using the teacher's TI-Nspire Family handheld:
• Make sure the teacher is logged into the class session using the "Teacher Account".
• Open the document to be sent using the teacher's TI-Nspire Family handheld.
• With the document open, on the handheld, press [doc] [1] [6]. This will copy the document to the "Class Record" of the TI-Nspire Navigator software and automatically transfer the document to each student logged into the class session.
To receive (collect) documents using the TI-Nspire Navigator system:
• Click [Window] then [Class Workspace].
• Click on the [Collect from Class...] button, [Tools] then [Collect from Class] or the shortcut [Ctrl]+[Shift]+[C].
• A dialog box will be displayed select the document you wish to collect from the "Send to Class" dialog.
• Click [Next] and you will be given options to collect from "Class" or "Individual Students". "Logged in only" if selected will only collect the document to students currently logged in. "Delete from handheld after collecting" will delete the TNS document from the handheld after collecting.
• Click the [Finish] button after the selections are made to collect the file to the class.
Please Note: An alternative method to collect is to [Mouse Click] to highlight the file in the "Class Record" then [Right-Click] or Mac:[Ctrl]+[Click] and choose [Collect Selected from Class] this however will not give you an option to delete the document after collecting.
To receive (manual collect) documents using the student's TI-Nspire Family handheld:
• Make sure the student is logged into the class session.
• Have the student open the document to be collected then press [doc] [1] [6].
Please Note: If your handheld does not have a [doc] key press [Ctrl] then [Home] instead.
To delete documents from the TI-Nspire Family handheld using the TI-Nspire Navigator system:
• Click [Window] then [Class Workspace].
• Click on the [Delete from Class...] button, [Tools] then [Delete from Class] or the shortcut [Ctrl]+[Shift]+[D].
• A dialog box will be displayed select the document you wish to delete from the "Sent to Class" or "Collected from Class" dialogs.
• Click [Next] and you will be given options to delete files from "Class" or "Individual Students". "Logged in only" if selected will only delete the document for students currently logged in.
• Click the [Finish] button after the selections are made to delete the file to the class.
Please Note: An alternative method to delete files is to click [Tools] [Delete All] however this will delete all documents on the handheld not just in the class folder.
